Another undemocratic, unscientific and desperate attempt to kill for killings sake is underway this week in Wisconsin. This siege on wolves is not unlike the siege we have seen across the country by Republicans who are terrified to lose traction on what the Trump administration has been attempting to destroy. This time, our wolves will die at the hands of trophy hunters by all barbaric methods, including being hounded by packs of dogs.
The legislative committee has come right out to admit that the whole purpose of rushing this hunt is to kill as many of our wolves as they can now before they are likely relisted again by the courts. Meaning this hunt will be ruled as illegal but allowed anyways while we continue to fight delisting in court.
A special NRB meeting is being held plotting a statewide wolf hunt to begin IMMEDIATELY.
The virtual meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 in the Public Meeting Room G09, State Natural Resources Building (GEF 2), 101 S. Webster St., in Madison. The public can watch the Special Meeting via Zoom here. If the meeting is at capacity or you are unable to join, the Special Meeting will also be livestreamed here. Although the public will not be allowed to attend the meeting in person due to COVID-19, the public is encouraged to participate remotely.
WE NEED YOU TO ACT NOW. The deadline for remote public appearance requests and written comments is 8 AM on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021. While it is VITAL that all those who love wolves speak out about this ridiculous proposal, it is best that you register to testify over public comment as it is more impactful.

The Wisconsin wolf management plan of 1999 amended in 2007 contains scientific errors that should be addressed and corrected if the state wants the plan to represent the best available science. It also contains implicit value judgments that should be clearly separated from the science. Those value judgments no longer represent the majority of the state’s residents. This proposal to hunt wolves again is being swiftly rushed behind the general public’s back to appease a narrow minority. Approving a wolf hunt in this manner will outrage wisconsinites across the state, and we must rally to stop it NOW.
Opening another statewide wolf hunt will cost the lives of livestock and wolves, increase environmental crimes, turn the majority against wildlife managers, and flout the best available science. PLEASE ACT TODAY.

Truly sickening. Please write to the DNR board or attend their meeting on Friday. Get the word out. I wrote to the DNR board, DNR Secretary & Governor condemning this decision without science or public input from the people of Wisconsin who in great numbers oppose this.

I am dismayed and appalled to hear people may be allowed to hunt wolves. It sickens me and if I could be there, I would tell anyone in favor of this hunt, you should be ashamed!

This is truly a sick act of violence on innocent animals that should have the right to live and not be killed for the sake of killing under the guise of sport or for the rancher.
We should all be focusing on the packers this weekend and beating the Bucs not killing the Wolves.

Please, please, please do not let this happen. These people are blood thirsty killers who enjoy watching animals fight and kill each other. Dog fighting is illegal, why isn’t this??? The wolves and other wildlife are in their world minding their own business. When is hounding going to be made illegal? These dogs are trained to kill. And if one of these dogs are killed by a wolf the owner gets $2,500 so why should they care about their dogs. The wolf population in WI has stabilized. They DO NOT need to be hunted! Please do not ok this inhumane slaughter of our wildlife and dogs.
