We are asking you to make some urgent emails and calls TODAY to the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety regarding SB 366, the felony animal cruelty bill. There is only one day left to communicate with the Committee before they make their decision on SB 366.
Those who hunt with hound dogs are already exempt on the bill from the abuses they put their animals through during training/hunting season, and yet it seems they are still not willing to allow the bill to go through. It is our position that wildlife must be protected from hound hunters allowing their dogs to harm or kill them, which is also prohibited by Wisconsin hunting regulations. As can be seen in countless social media posts and many of you have even witnessed first hand, wildlife suffer terribly from hunting hounds, whether they are in a captive pen or being attacked during a training or hunting season like the February 2021 Wolf Hunt.
Watch our documentary to learn more about this felony wildlife fighting:

Hounders are notorious for training their dogs to corner and fight wildlife, so much so that there are facilities where they pay to train on coyotes, raccoons and bears in pens. Because hound hunters are exempt from their hound dogs getting hurt, countless wild animals are being mauled and dying from injuries inflicted by hounds without the protections on this bill. The lobbyist, Bob Welch at the Wisconsin Bear Hunters Association, is trying hard to make sure “his guys” don’t have to answer for how their hound dogs treat wildlife. THAT is what we are trying to show lawmakers. Welch wants to make sure the wording is changed to absolve bear hunting dog fighters of their reckless behavior. We don’t want the one person opposing this bill to have all of the say on how it should be written. “His guys” were not at the public hearings.
Because they are probably not aware, you can also let lawmakers know how hound dogs are being severely injured and abused by their owner’s negligence. The spirit of this bill is to protect all animals from extreme cruelty but in order to do that it needs to go through without amendments.
As always, please be respectful and include your full name, address, and email when you contact the Committee members to ask them to support SB 366 without amendments exempting hunting hounds and wildlife from protections. Thank you for being a voice for animals.

Make sure tammy baldwin gets the message. if we hear that she approves of these hunts like she did for taking the wolf off the endangered species list, I as a longtime WI progressive will not vote for her ever again and hoping everyone will join me and hoping we can replace her with a real progressive that fights for what progressives believe in. she is silent in these fights and any fights, where is her voice? we sent her to do our work so we can end it because she is just not vocal in the fights we need her to engage in. she works against us.

Glad that someone finally recognizes that it was a Democratic President that originally took the wolf off the Endangered Species list (Obama), and our “progressive” Democratic Senator Baldwin that supported him on it. She’s replied to absolutely none of my pleas to step in and help the slaughter here in Wisconsin.

Please support legislation that protects all animals. Just because something was done historically does not make it right. Please support SB 366 and reconsider allowing Hound hunters the exemption from abuses the dogs suffer at the hands of their owners during training exercises and hunting. Thank you for your time and attention.

Not sure exactly what to do here. Are we in favor of SB 366 or opposed? Or in favor but leave out wording about hunting dogs? I’d like to meet the deadline for comments if possible. Thank you.

what would happen to me if I found myself between a pack of hounds and a wolf, and I feared for my life? What exactly would happen to me if I took defensive kinetic action to protect myself from these hounds ( I am not implying a firearm by the way)??
What would happen if I was wearing a GoPro directly wired to the cloud while this was occurring.? What would happen if there were 50 like minded athletically and physically capable individuals like myself in exactly the same situation at the same time in different locations?
