In place this week's regularly scheduled Fireside Chat, we hope you can join us tomorrow evening @ 7PM CST for the annual celebration of our nation's wildlife and wild places!
TODAY IS THE DAY: Tweet or call to save our gray wolves! Join our phone jam to tie up Secretary Haaland and President Biden's lines all day long with calls and tweets about wolves urging them to stand up for what’s right, listen to the American public, and relist wolves as an endangered species.
This Earth Day, help us keep wolves safe in Wisconsin and the Great Lakes region. Your dedication allows us to continue organizing and advocating for the strongest protections for gray wolves.
We have already accomplished so much in 2022, sending in resolutions to the Wisconsin Conservation Congress, meeting with state and federal lawmakers and staying informed. We have protected most of the wolves in our country and helped wildlife in peril just not in our backyards but nationally as well.
Friends, while we are all celebrating the good news that wolves in most of the country have regained needed protections under the Endangered Species Act, and our victory in court against Wisconsin's wolf hunt, the enemy line is always close...
At our Fireside Chat on Thursday, February 10th, Special Guest Francisco J. Santiago-Ávila PhD joined us to talk about his work with carnivore protection in the Midwest, and what happens with Wisconsin wolves both when they are protected and what happens when they lose protection.
After Animal Wellness Action offered a $10,000 reward for info leading to the successful prosecution of wolf poachers in the state last week, Hunters for Wolves felt that they would like to see that pool of money increase in order to bring attention to the illegal poaching of wildlife.
Jason Momoa stars in a new campaign video urging the government to put wolves back on the endangered species list. As Momoa notes, hunters are not just slaughtering adult wolves, but killing their pups in their dens, and the actor is joining other celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Iliza Shlesinger in petitioning President Joe Biden to #RelistWolves.
This is a real look at what is happening to our wildlife in Wisconsin. A very small percentage of hunters engage in this practice, yet they have huge political influence in Wisconsin. We appreciate Silent Sports Magazine for doing such a deep dive into this issue, are are encouraging everyone to share this article with your state legislators, urging them to get behind ending this barbaric practice once and for all.
From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank each and everyone one of you for your advocacy and support throughout this entire battle. The fight for wolves is far from over, but tonight....WE CELEBRATE. Please join us!
