PRESS RELEASE: WISCONSIN DNR DELAYS WOLF MANAGEMENT PLAN

Today, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said that they have no known date at this time for bringing forward the new wolf management plan, which still needs to be updated from the current 1999 antiquated plan.

We have already accomplished so much in 2022, sending in resolutions to the Wisconsin Conservation Congress, meeting with state and federal lawmakers and staying informed. After Animal Wellness Action offered a $10,000 reward for info leading to the successful prosecution of wolf poachers in the state last week, Hunters for Wolves felt that they would like to see that pool of money increase in order to bring attention to the illegal poaching of wildlife.

Jason Momoa stars in a new campaign video urging the government to put wolves back on the endangered species list. As Momoa notes, hunters are not just slaughtering adult wolves, but killing their pups in their dens, and the actor is joining other celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Iliza Shlesinger in petitioning President Joe Biden to #RelistWolves.
